BITSA experts held working meetings with representatives of state agencies

Following its mission to shape policy on the development of ITS systems nationwide to improve road safety, BITSA experts met with representatives from the Road Infrastructure Agency and the Executive Agency “Road Transport Administration”
- On 03.05 the Board of BITSA met with representatives of the Road Infrastructure Agency
Opportunities for cooperation between the Association and the Agency were discussed at the meeting.
The main theme around which the two sides agreed was the need to foresee ITS systems at the planning stage of infrastructure and transport projects. The need for a National ITS Strategy was also discussed to create an understanding of the role of ITS and to define the principles and focus for the deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems.
- On 16.03.2023 representatives of the Bulgarian ITS Association held a meeting with the management of the Executive Agency “Road Transport Administration”.
At the meeting were discussed current issues and problems related to road safety and in particular periodic inspections to check the roadworthiness of vehicles, training for acquiring the right to drive and driver qualification training.
The BITSA experts highlighted possible solutions to improve existing processes and committed to making practical proposals to the institutions.
